As you may or may not have heard, the Tacoma Public School District is planning to close down Henry Foss High School in order to save money. Their plan is to temporarily close down Foss for three years, saving them at least $2 million. This is a great plan to save money but it does not mean it is beneficial to everyone. This lan will affect not only the students, parents and faculties of Henry Foss, but it will also affect their community as well.
Henry Foss High School opened its doors in 1973 and was the first school in the state of Washington to introduce the IB program. Since then, Henry Foss has flourished in diversity and education. We have the best business program out of all the high schools in Tacoma. Our extracurricular programs have made great achievements as well. Our teachers are some of the best including the Golden Apple award recipients Robert Yuong and Richard Byrnes. These teachers and many more are especially trained to teach the students of Foss and lead them to success. Here at Foss, it's a Green and Gold Heaven!
Now however, we Falcons are in danger of becoming extinct due to the fact that our home is in jeopardy of closing. All we ask for is for your support. If we all band together, united in the purpose to keep our school, our home, our family, then we can stop the downfall of Henry Foss High School. We hope this website will show you the best of Foss and what we have to offer to our environment and Community!
